First Steps
Getting started with therapy can sometimes feel daunting and this is understandable. The first step is to contact me. The easiest way to reach me is by emailing me and we can set up a first session to talk through your concerns. Alternatively please phone and leave a telephone message and I will return your message at my earliest opportunity.
The second crucial step is for us to meet. Our first meeting will be an opportunity for you to say more about your situation, talk through your concerns and how you're feeling. This will help to clarify and identify the issues, give us a chance to get to know each other and think about how therapy can help. The first session is for fifty minutes and sometimes we may need a second exploratory session to decide if you want to take the therapy further.
You can self-refer and do not need a referral from your GP. Your enquiry will be treated in strict confidence.
Once the decision has been made to continue with therapy we will establish a ‘contract’ which will make clear the confidential nature of our work together, and the cancellation policy.
