First Steps

​​Getting started with therapy can sometimes feel daunting and this is understandable.  The first step is to make contact by phoning and having a brief telephone conversation to talk through any questions you have and to tell me a bit about your situation.  You can also email me if this is preferable.  If you want to explore taking therapy further we can then arrange a first meeting. 

The first meeting will be an opportunity for you to say more about your situation, talk through your concerns and how you're feeling.  This will help to clarify and identify the issues, give us a chance to get to know each other and think about how therapy can help. 


You can self-refer and do not need a referral from your GP.  Your enquiry will be treated in strict confidence.

Once the decision has been made to continue after the first session we will establish a ‘contract’ which will make clear the confidential nature of our work together, and the cancellation policy.
